"For what it’s worth, I don’t like Bitch Lab, I don’t read her, I don’t think she’s very bright, and I think the main thing she piggybacked on recently was a comment thread to a post she didn’t author. Nice appropriation, that. ... Don’t like Bitch Lab? Join the club, and don’t read her. Read the women she rips off instead. They’re better." - Ilyka Damen

yeah. isn’t she great. i saw her at the first conference I ever attended. she had this way of speaking that was hard to describe — but it was moving, too. i like the way she does phenomenology, though sometimes she gets too wordy. this passage was perfecto!
oh, btw, at the conference, she got reamed out for using the term ‘world traveling’. people said it sounded too much like a superficial race tourism.
fun! that was my introduction to feminist wars — a conference where everyone was at war all day long, i swear. and over these very same issues. *sigh* that was more than ten years ago.
and we’re still not “getting it.”
oh, oh. andbut, the mother-daughter thing (on top of everything else here, of course). Oh.
If I ever get to host a Carnival of Feminists, that’s gonna be one of the themes. The mother-daughter thing.
