For what it’s worth, I don’t like Bitch Lab, I don’t read her, I don’t think she’s very bright, and I think the main thing she piggybacked on recently was a comment thread to a post she didn’t author. Nice appropriation, that.

So: Don’t like Bitch Lab? Join the club, and don’t read her. Read the women she rips off instead. They’re better.

Just go ahead and bitch

Clearly, your response is loaded with bias. By your thinking, ANY, Repbulican is incapable of objective thought. By your “reasoning” , objectivity can only be ascribed to liberal “thinkers”. Not surprisingly, you rant against, “ALLOWING” Republicans to excercise free speech. You’d have been a big hit in the Third Reich.

Keith obviously did not read the post! Which is typical for people who react emotionallly, and not rationally.

Keith misses the point. This study is an indictment of ALL whites for not being able to judge “black faces” without prejudice.
The biggest indictment, though, is reserved for idiotic media coverage where no opinion is a proven one OR no opinion is any more valid than another - if one party can argue better than another then they must be right (note to Dems - get better at this, please).

Well, as I said in this response to Keith, he needs to learn how to read.

I suspect, however, that Slate does too. The clue is his use of the word ALLOWED. That’s what Slate used to characterize my post.

And, in that case, the Liberals didn’t get it either. Of course, maybe I just suck at writing.

here’s the slate piece. It’s just a little blurb.

But, I tell ya, if they think I can’t write, they might want to rethink the practice of starting a paragraph describing liberals blogs as giving the article the “one line treatment” and then listing my review which is, uh, not a one-line treatment! heh.

Ahhh. well, they are woefully underpaid and understaffed and Bitch | Lab overfloweth with millions of dollars to ensure fabulously researched and well edited/proofread items for this humble ol’ blog.

I’ve already posted this somewhere else, but I’ll post it here too. Cut and paste is great.

Which one am I according to this study?

I voted for Al Gore when Bush ran in round one.

But I voted for Bush over Kerry in round two.

It’s always the same. Dems versus Reps. I’m a born again Christian and a strict independent.

I vote for issues, not people or parties.

I made a mistake and voted for Al Gore over Bush because of what I felt at the time.

I voted for Bush over Kerry the next time around, keeping to my Christian roots, honoring my personal Lord and Savior, Jesus The Christ, and the unborn Child.

What’s this “these people are racists and these other people aren’t.”

That’s a false black and white/all or none statement.

    My issue is abortion.

What does the issue of abortion have to do with my beloved African-American neighbors? NOTHING.

I have African-American neighbors who are members of the Body of Christ that stand against abortion too. Do they “hate black people?”

Some individuals claim that abortion is just one issue. That’s one enormous issue that can’t be overlooked! That’s a lot of people being killed.

Well, one could say, “what about the war?”

Not to say Bush is wrong, but suppose he is wrong.

Well, then I may not vote Liberal or Republican.

    Wiley,

First, the study indicated racism overall.

(begin quote) The analysis found that substantial majorities of Americans, liberals and conservatives, found it more difficult to associate black faces with positive concepts than white faces — evidence of implicit bias. ” (end quote)

Here’s something: I’m racist. I live in a racist society and I participate in, sometimes reproducing, sometimes resisting, racist practices, institutions, and norms. Same thing goes for sexism, ablism, heterosexism.

I do want to change those things, so I work on it in a variety of ways. I learn every single day about ways I fail at this endeavor, but I keep trying, I keep listening, and I keep struggling.

It’s not about hate for most people either — though there are some people who hate.

Second, since we are, in general, racist they asked about those who exhibited deeper levels of racism to see if there is a correlation between those who were more racist and voting for the republican party. They discovered there was.

At the level of voting district they found that:

(begin quote) districts that registered higher levels of bias systematically produced more votes for Bush. (end quote)

As for the rest, I need to go and kill some undead babies for the day. I have a quota to meet and, after that, I get a commission.

    Ta.

p.s. I suggest also, that if you are someone who votes single issue, then you register that with those for whom you vote. Then, I suggest that you make really clear how apalled you are with their racist policies. If you see none, then I’d say that you’re uh not klewed.

Concerning racism. Moses himself married an Ethiopian woman. There is a group that claims to be following Christ, Bob Jones U., who, during a certain time period, apparently wouldn’t approve Moses’ marriage because of the skin color issue.

I’d say that I’m “klewed,” as you put it.

The act of hating someone because of the color of their skin is appaulling.

    1 Samuel 16:7

“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t make decisions the way you do! People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at a person’s thoughts and intentions.’ ”

As you can clearly see, a fellow member of the Body of Christ, Martin Luther King Jr., who was one of our leaders, doesn’t seem to be the originator of the statement, “Not by the color of skin, but by content of character.” He followed the same Christ as I do.

Skin color just isn’t an issue concerning who should lead America as president. But…

If any “white man” runs as a dem I will reject her or him. Not because of her or his skin color but because she or he supports abortion.

    The same….

If any African-American runs as a dem I will reject her or him. Not because of her or his skin color but because she or he supports abortion.

This dem versus rep squabble appears to be too wrongfully black and white. Wrongfully all or none in logic.

Similar to what I’ve already said, not saying it’s the case, but suppose the Republican Party is wrong about the war and some, but not all, carry a racist edge to their politics and mistreat African-Americans.

Now I have to choose between the murder of children and the oppression of African Americans(If that’s the case, not saying it is). If that were the case, what kind of choice is that!!!!!

That’s false black and white. Sounds like “Sophie’s” choice in the movie by that name. She has to choose between which child gets his or her life taken in the holocost.

Not to say it’s the case, but IF Republicans are collectively wrong, they will NOT get off the hook on this one. But even if that were the case, Liberals appear to be even worse! Why?

IF Liberals are right on in their agenda to help those African-American Americans who are oppressed, they ruined everything by additionally saying that to support the Democratic ticket you ALSO have to support the murdering of children. They are ruining it for African-Americans who are oppressed!

I speak out against racism. But… I also speak out against the murder of children.

My message to the Liberal Party! DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE! Don’t tell me that in order to support my beloved African-Americans I also have to support the murdering of children.

Also, concerning abortion… it is ignorance that feeds it.

My grandfather faught in World War II as an American, but I met a person whos grandfather faught in World War II as a German.

Yes, his grandfather faught for the Nazis, and at the time of around 1999 when I spoke with him, his grandfather was still alive.

He stated in his own words that his grandfather was “klewless” as to the murdering of Jews and others. What he was told by his governement was something entirely different from what we now know.

This is the state of abortion today. What if it’s the state of racism today? I’m “klewed,” but I just might choose.

I’ll just might have to consider which one is worse, the oppression of African Americans or the murder of children that even you joked about. Why do you joke? Because you obviously don’t know it is.

I’ve spoken with a person who falsely argued that Hitler wasn’t all bad. He did good for the German people in helping them out of oppression. I don’t agree with this but suppose it were the case he helped oppressed Germans. So what?
I won’t vote for that ticket.
I won’t vote for the dem. ticket either.
I don’t support the murdering of Jews and babies.
