For what it’s worth, I don’t like Bitch Lab, I don’t read her, I don’t think she’s very bright, and I think the main thing she piggybacked on recently was a comment thread to a post she didn’t author. Nice appropriation, that.

So: Don’t like Bitch Lab? Join the club, and don’t read her. Read the women she rips off instead. They’re better.

Pretty much my thoughts on the wisdom of using “zero” as a branding agent for don’t-call-it-diet soda. Although, if they are going to make a go of it, this is the way to do it: Flood marketing.

I still think “Diet Sprite Zero” is overboard. Diet and zero? What’s in it, tapeworm eggs?

As for fake blogs, McDonalds, with it’s idiotic “Lincoln Fry” Super Bowl stunt, will always hold the chutzpah crown.

Actually, Miz Bitch, there is a difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero…the former is truly sugar free (uses aspartame/Nutra-Sweet for its sweetness) while the latter does contain sugar, but is carb-free.

But on the general point, you are so right…the marketing sucks and blows..big time.

I just checked out the “Blog.” I actually feel personally insulted when this kind of gimick is employed. I am a member of the most desireable demographic. If you want to sell me your product, tell me why it is better than your previous product/competition’s product. Try to be funny, and you will most likely fail. Try to act like we have been hanging out for a while and you will fail. Act like a talking lizard and you will fail. Just let me make my choices based on the merits of your product.

I suppose I will adopt at least part of the “Zero” philosophy and spend just that much on this product.
